World Fantasy Award

The World Fantasy Award, also known as the Howard Award, consists of a misshapen bust of H. P. Lovecraft designed by artist Gahan Wilson. Members of the World Fantasy Convention are eligible to make nominations, but the winners are determined by a panel of judges. Only living persons are eligible to win the award, which is given in several categories, at the annual World Fantasy Convention. The awards have been given since the mid-1970s.
