Jim Blish, a fan-turned-pro who contributed a long series of percipient criticism under this byline to Redd Boggs' SKYHOOK in the mid-50s. The pename's from that of Ezra Pound, who wrote criticism as William Atheling. Junior's identity was a great puzzle at the time he was writing; those who pondered it might have reached the solution if they'd known who senior was, since Blish is a great admirer of Pound's poetry and criticism.
