Stanley (Stan) William Joseph Aschmeier, who usually signed his work Stan Asch or Stan Josephs, was an artist best known for his work in comic books in the 1930s and 1940s. He also worked as an artist in oil and acrylic, as a lithographer, and as an instructor on the faculty at The University of Minnesota.

Asch worked on syndicated comic features like “Just Like Junior” in the 1930s, and helped create such characters as Johnny Thunder and Dr. Midnite for DC Publications. He also worked on other comic book characters, including Dr. Fate, the Green Hornet, and Mr. Terrific.

He illustrated Carl H. Claudy's SF strip, “Rescue on Mars,” in All-American Comics in the late 1930s-early 1940s.
