SFC

The Southern Fandom Confederation was founded in 1971 at the New Orleans DeepSouthCon. Meade Frierson was its first president, and gave the organization much of its shape through his frequent Bulletins and larger Handbooks. Meetings are held annually at DeepSouthCon.

The SFC gives out the Phoenix Award (a lifetime achievement award for a pro "who has done a great deal for Southern Fandom) and the Rebel Award (likewise, for a fan).
