Raymond F. Jones

(1915 – 1994)

Raymond Fisher Jones was a SF author.

He is best known for his 1952 novel, This Island Earth, which was adapted into the 1955 motion picture of the same name.

His first SF stories appeared in Astounding, and many of his most memorable short fiction was published there in the 1940s-1950s. "Correspondence Course" was nominated for the 1946 Best Short Story Retro Hugo and "Rat Race" was nominated for the 1967 Best Short Story Hugo
