Penny Frierson

An Alabama con-running fan who found fandom in 1968. She cochaired ConFederation, the 1986 Worldcon and was part of the Atlanta in '86 and Atlanta in '95 Worldcon bids and also chaired DeepSouthCon 15 as well as working on numerous Worldcons and regionals. She was one of the founders of the Birmingham Science Fiction Club.

She was married to Meade Frierson with whom she collaborated in her fan writing. Fanzines included Science Fiction on Radio, HPL, the HPL Tribute, The HPL Supplement, A Passing Fancy, Ah Yes, I Remember Well a Saturday in Birmingham, Scarfing Humble Pie, and the fannish play, Shattered Like a Clockwork Orange. They were members of Myriad, RAPS, and SFPA.
