Martha Beck

(1929 — March 13, 2002)

Martha E. Manos Beck was a longtime Indiana fan who started collecting SF in 1949. She was also an artist and a musician. She married Henry Cabot Beck, Sr. in 1949, settled in Gary, Indiana, and had two children. Henry and Martha and became associated with members of Chicago fandom. She was a member of the committee at Chicon III where she ran the N3F suite.

Very popular, Martha was Fan Guest of Honor at multiple conventions including Windycon XVII, a member of First Fandom and the N3F, among other groups. She ran for TAFF in 1985 and was added to the First Fandom Hall of Fame in 2002.
