(1) A Convention in Melbourne

A convention held at the Victoria Hotel in Melbourne in 1984 to take advantage of the fact that Harry Harrison was in Melbourne on his way back from Swancon Nine. It was organized by Paul Stevens and Merv Binns.

Bruce Gillespie was presented the Harry Harrison Award for Promoting Science Fiction Internationally, awarded to him at the 1983 World SF meeting.

(2) A Gathering in Dublin

An international gathering of pros hosted by Harry Harrison in Dublin sometime prior to the fall of the USSR, probably in the early 70s. It was meant to be a chance for SF pros from all over the world to get together, an included a delegation from the USSR, as well as from the US, UK, Brazil and other countries. It seems to have been the inspiration for World SF.
