Australian Ballot

When you hear the term "Australian Ballot" used in fandom is is almost always a misnomer. The speaker usually means "Transferable Preferential Ballot", a ballot in which the voter ranks multiple options in order and all of the voter's preferences are used to determine the winner. "Australian Ballot" properly refers to a secret ballot.
